    1985 Santa Fe Blue GLH

Picked up another project. (just what I was missing)

Not as bad as it looks in this photo, but close. The only real bad spot is the floor on the driver side. Looks like those floor templates are going to be of use again.

Most of the GLH parts are there. What's not I probably have on the shelf.

The real deciding factor will be if I can get a title.

Wonder what happened to the poor Gold GLH the hood came from?
Hope you can get the title, I really want to see you restore a blue one.

Wish you were closer to me, you'd be painting a red one.
I just don't trust any shops local to me.

I'm in the process of applying for a replacement title. I bought the car from Tom Wagner, Tom got it from Scott Werkau. Any owner info prior to Scott would be great.
This GLH is actually in pretty decent shape. I would rather get it back on the road than part it out, but without a title, its a parts car.

Can't wait to see what becomes of it. That poor car is in the best hands. I also hope to rescue a certain GLH someday to clear out shelf space!!

I applied for the replacement title. I have no idea how long the process takes or if the DMV will consider it due to the condition of the car.

Cool. I've had my Santa Fe Springs Blue GLHT since '85

Re: 1985 Santa Fe Blue GLH

The State of Wisconsin DMV approved my application for a replacement title. I have to buy a surety bond and mail it in to the state. Then they will issue a new title for the car.

    Another GLH saved.

That's really great. How hard is it to bond the car?

Re: 1985 Santa Fe Blue GLH

Not hard at all. I had to apply for a lost title with the DMV and pay the registration fees. Once the DMV approved the application, I received a letter stating the value of the bond required. Google pointed to a company that issues title bonds, a couple emails and $100 got me the required bond.
I send the bond to the DMV and in a few weeks I should have the title. The new title will show it is a bonded replacement title. After five years the bond can be dropped and title made clear. Probably for an additional fee, the DMV doesn't do anything for free.
