This is on my 1991 Daytona Shelby. The reason I'm saying it's intermittent is because this should light up the Power Loss light. The light comes and goes, although the code is stored. Basic rundown:
Code 41 - Alternator field terminals not switching properly (Per the 1991 FSM)
The alternator has been checked and had new brushes installed by a very reputable local shop. 120 amp NipponDenso
Starter was checked and deemed good by the same shop. Factory issue "small" Bosh
Battery has been tested by three different shops and deemed good. Napa 80 month, 800 CCA
Charging and starting harnesses both inspected and repaired as needed, using correct gauge wires, factory style terminals, and solder-on battery terminals.
Engine to body ground straps have been inspected and cleaned as needed.
Voltage gauge on the dash reads right in the middle like it always has.
Voltmeter reads 13.9x at the battery with the engine running, and 14.06 at the alternator itself. Is that a touch low?
Swapping SBEC cured the problem temporarily, but now it's back.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Suggestions?
