Description: This turbo has just sat on an engine in a warehouse for the last 30ish years. I bought the engine from Mosler 2 years ago, there is no carbon in the turbine house, inspection marks are still on the compressor blades. I've got a bigger turbo for this engine, which is why this one's for sale. Very tight, no shaft play. It would make a great stock replacement for someone with a tired turbo.

I'm not good at visual I.D. but is that the Garrett T2 that came on the 1989 Daytona Shelby (and others).

Yes it is, it's off of an '88 t2 2.2l.

That turbo will fit the '89 Daytona Shelby without issue, however it is not the same. For '89 the T2 turbos got a 2.5" swing valve versus 2.25" for the '87-'88 T2's. The other change is a larger wastegate actuator can for '89. Not earthshattering differences, and won't have any functional issues.
