    Fan/Shroud for TII/TU radiator

Anybody found an aftermarket slim radiator fan/shroud that adapts easily to a TII or TurbosUnleashed radiator?

I've thought of having a sheetmetal shroud made up like I did for my Omni GLH, but the local company that made it is no longer in business so I'd have to find another place willing to make one. The Omni uses a stock radiator with a 14" Derale Tornado electric fan and the custom shroud and it works great.

OTOH, I recently found this Derale fan at Summit:

At 15.75" x 15.75 x 3.125, it looks like it will fit the TU radiator pretty well and 2200 CFM! I like the shroud and it would save me the hassle of having a custom shroud made.

    I had a ZIRGO (Z19) ZFU14S 14 ZIRGO UHP 2785CFM fan.

Most worthless $142.95 I ever spent. Car would overheat with a/c on while in 110F summer.

Get a Volvo fan and its relay, found in early 90's 940/960 (prefer as it comes with longer wiring and a nice shrouds to work with) or 90's 850/S70/V70/C70 (shorter wiring and shroud would not work for most cars)

I've installed it in Daytona, CSX, and Omni. AJ have it in his Dakota, Minivan, TC wagon. My friend had it in his 528i, GMC Sierra, Volvo 740, etc...
This is the one to get.

Plenty of pictures in this thread.

Looks like RockAuto has replacements for 100-160.00 depending on what brand you buy... seems like a pretty good deal, but doesn't come with a shroud, so J/Y may be the way to go.

Let us know what you end up with. The shroud I bought for my civic rad came with a crappy ebay fan and I'm definitely going to upgrade it. I don't have a lot of room though...

Junk. I bought an after market Seimens and a Dorman. The Siemens quit after a couple of months and the Dorman didn't fit the shroud I built around the factory Volvo fan. If you don't get one from a Volvo in the junkyard or from Volvo, don't waste your money.

Seimens wasn't any good? They supply parts for a lot, if not all manufacturers.

No it wasn't. Seimens is who builds them for Volvo so I figured I'd save $150 buying the factory fan aftermarket. VDO bought Seimens and looking at the factory Volvo Seimens fan removed from the J/Y compared to the new Seimens fan from the aftermarket was definitely different. I have yet to order a fan from Volvo for $300 to see what I get.

The Hayden fan I had on my Horizon was still going after 10 years of use.

It could be the aftermarket one is like a value line part. Chrysler sells OEM parts and for stuff like brakes, hubs and some other stuff they have a value line that's cheaper and usually made overseas unlike the mopar parts which are usually made in NAFTA.

I think I have 3 spare fans and 4 spare relays...

At $20-$40 a pop at junkyard, these Volvo fans are fantastic!

What Volvo are you guys getting these fans out of?

I ended up getting the Derale 16926. It fits the TU aluminum radiator perfectly. It came with a relay and harness, and mounting clips. I don't care for the mounting clips (thru-the-core), so I had to order a different mounting kit.
