Smoking it up!

I just bought this 86 laser turbo xt a few weeks ago had been sitting for a bit and I started to drive it. I first saw smoke when starting it, then as the RPMs climbed and shifted it would smoke a puff or two, now she smokes on acceleration and I looked at the plugs and they look actually clean, my son is thinking it could be the turbo seals? Is there a way to check this or is there something lm missing ?? One last question, the turbos they used 84-86 were they all the same unit or part number?

That or the head gasket is toast.

If the plugs look clean I would start the car when the motor is dead cold. If there isn't any smoke until the car warms up then it's most likely leaking out the turbo.

All TI turbos are the same from 84-87 as far as bolting up etc. No real differences there.
