When you go to the auto parts store to buy a belt, pick up a Chilton manual.
As far as valve to valve interference. I've never seen a real case of it on the 2.4.

i've worked on 3 of them with snapped belts- all 3 had bent valves. if the belt snapped while engine was running = bent valves every time if the belt snapped when the engine was shut off= probably ok
