    Re: Daytuna's 1987 Daytona

    **Quick Update**

I have been slacking on getting major work done, but I did accomplish a couple things over the past month.

Pullled all of the fuel lines and brake lines out to replace them with nicopp tubing.

Cleaned the gas tank out with stainless steel nuts/bolts with a mix of distilled water and acetone. Flushed the tank about a million times then wiped out as much water as I could. Gave the outside of the tank a quick coat of spray-on bedliner, now time for fuel pump assembly.
Ordered fuel pump hanger assembly and parts to implement the Walbro 255 into the tank.

Since I am going to relocate a lot of items inside of the engine bay, I decided to create my own oil catch can, coolant overflow tank, and a charcoal canister for the gas tank. In the process, I created some fun warning labels Some of you might even know where they are from

I thought the charcoal canister came out pretty well:

Used a generic ebay overflow tank.
Sealed up all of the holes with teflon tape.
Added aquarium charcoal to the tank with a filter so charcoal cant get sucked into the gas tank.
Install a breather filter to vent out of the top.
    and BAM!

The oil catch can was pretty much the same.
    Used an ebay generic can.
Sealed all holes with telfon tape.
Stuffed some fine grade steel wool at the bottom.
Added piece of hose with holes in it to reach the bottom.
Wrapped the hose with fine grade steelwool.

The coolant overflow was even easier.
    Used an ebay generic can.
Sealed all holes with telfon tape.
Run a hose through fitting down to the bottom of tank.
    Cap other holes.

Stay Tuned - More to come!

    Hey Kevin,

I found a few of those window pad things in my garage when I was cleaning the other day. Did you need some so you can adjust your door glass?
