I swear the Shelby people were drunk when they did decal placement. I spent an hour looking at pictures online and decal placement is all over the board. I guess I can't go wrong then when I install as there was a great deal of variation.
Question- I see some CSX with rims with blacked out spokes and other with non-painted spokes. Was this a running change or people doing rim swapping over the years?

Likely rim swapping. The '87 GLHS wheels were the same, except the inserts were not painted. Every '87 CSX I've seen with original wheels were painted.
Online I have seen a bunch of 87 CSX either way and don't recall seeing the 'blacked out rims" on any other FWD Mopar.
All the low mileage (49 miles!) or one owner cars do tend to show the black wheels so at the moment the preponderance of evidence would point towards rim swapping. I'm still looking though, you know me.
Maybe when I finally track down the original owner ;-)

I believe that CSX should be blacked out, and GLHS should be bare... now if they ALL left the factory that way, who's to say?
