I didn't think of it until just now, but I can take the hood off of an 89 and use it on a 91 car and vise versa right? I'm off to do a search, but I do need to know ASAP.

if the rad support look the same it should work, i think it was 87-90 then the latch location changed
We took the hood off a 93 shadow and put it on an 89 sundance and the latch was in a different location and we had to remove the latch and use hood pins.
Would it be fairly simple to adapt a 91+ hood to fit an 89 or is that more work than it's worth?
The 87-90 hoods are straight forward interchangeable.
The 91-93 hoods have the latch farther forward due to the relocated core support for the 3.0L integration.
It is possible to cross the 87/90 to 91/93 and vise versa but it will required a fair amount of hood latch hole elongation to line things up.
Aren't the headlights in the way? The older shadow hoods have notches in the hood for the lamps, the newer shadows hood was straight across. I would think you would have to swap put the grill and headlights onto the older car to make the hood work right?
Thanks Ken. The hood I was looking at is so nice I wouldn't want to cut on it at all. I'll leave it be for someone with a 91+ car that's looking for a nice hood.
Yes - We were specifically referencing the latch locations and the respective front core support commonality.
Certainly, if an 87 hood is put on a 90 or vise versa, the appropriate headlamp/grille will be required while all of the latching mechanisms will line up.
Coincidentally, This was done to the white CSX photo/press car as it was used later for the Autoshow circuit as a 1990 prototype.
So tell me of this "too nice of a hood "Cordes. As Cathy has rammed her 94 hood up the butt of a Ford Explorer.
