My Carquest just had some overnighted from Sonnax for $16.10 plus $8.26 for UPS overnight. This is 10, .005 shims. Part = Sonnax # K48955. Not a great price but from the post here, I thought they would be hard to get.

Not hard to get, but since every tran uses a slightly different shim size to get the right preload it's financially unwise for people to stock them, unless they do a lot of rebuilds. Did you check what size you required before you ordered? A good rule of thumb is an additional .050 on top of the existing shim size, not that anyone should just throw a .050 shim in and go but you'll be pretty close to that.
If you measure it before hand and have the factory service manual each size shim has a specific part number to order by.
TurboGLH is right, my OBX required right around .050'' to shim as well. I actually used a second stock diff shim (I had 3 and they were all the same thickness) and just ground it down a couple thousandths.
