Title says it all. I would like to get a 2.2 CB pan on the car before SDAC so I can take sweeping turns without worry. There's a 2.5 pan on there now with no balance shafts. I would like to avoid catastrophe if possible.

If you can't find one, some sheet metal sheers and a welder and you could make some nice baffles in a day.
I hear this Gary fella recently came into a bunch of parts. Maybe he can help.
What is the pan length vs a non CB pan? If someone can get me the way to tell the difference, I will look at the oil pans I have and see.

Good luck Cordes
I looked for about 6 months before I found mine.
We need to start a thread/(T-Mopar store, if you will), of near-unobtanium parts that peeps need to look for when shopping at the j-yards
There were a few on Flea bay when I was looking, a little pricey but appeared to be NOS
what's the difference between the pans? 2.2 shallower pan?
Yes. The balance shaft pan without balance shafts doesn't control oil very well and can lead to starvation on long sweeping turns from all I've read. I think I'm well into the territory of being able to slosh the oil around so I don't want to autocross etc. with the BS pan on there.

I'll check that out. Thanks for the lead.
There is no such thing as 2.2L oil pan or 2.5L oil pan.
For FWD common block cars,
There is an oil pan for NON balance shaft common block engine.
This pan is found in 89 2.2L TII, 89+ 2.2 N/A, 89 2.2L TIV
There is an oil pan for common block engine WITH balance shaft .
This pan is found in 89 TI 2.5L, 89+ 2.5 N/A. 90 2.2L TIV, 91+ 2.2L TIII
Both oil pan also uses their own unique oil pick up tube, about $20 at autozone, last time I bought one.
Thanks for the clarification. I always forget that the put balance shafts in a small number of 2.2 cars.

Thanks for looking. I've got 3-4 non-common block versions myself.
I really thought it was for a CB.....shows I have no idea what the heck I have.

Incorrectly listed as 1988 and older but sure looks like 1989 (common block) and newer.
Thanks
