    Put about 35 miles on the new motor last night, everything went smoothly. Got all the coolant leaks fixed, oil pressure was good on the whole drive, I watched that vigilantly. Checked the plugs and they looked good.
    I temporarily set up my vented valve covers like so:

    After a drive there was a little oil in the vicinity of the filter, here is what the inside of the cover looks like.

    I'm going to do some more tweaking to the baffle to eliminate this oil spray.

    Nice VC gaskets!

    Did you put coarse stainless steel wool inside the baffle?
