Apuzzo/Reeves Racing 2.0/2.2/2.4/2.5 to A904 Auto Trans Adapters

I have been working on an adapter plate for 2.2/2.5 to A904 small block style auto trans with Anthony Apuzzo. Final fitment has been tested and finished. Since the 2.0/2.4 adapter plate already existed and has been tested/finished, we decided to make a combo plate that included all 4 engine combinations to bolt to a small block style A904 automatic trans.

This plate will bolt to the back of a 2.0/2.2/2.4/2.5 liter Chrysler block, and the small block A904 trans will then bolt to the plate.

You will need to use the 2.0/2.2/2.4/2.5 flex plate and starter. The starter will need it's tapped holes drilled out and new hardware will be needed to attach starter to the adapter plate. The reason for this is for ease of changing the starter down the road (so you won't have to pull the motor or trans).

It will require a custom torque converter to match the style of flexplate being used to the input of the 904 trans. You can get this from Anthony Apuzzo, or source your own.

This plate will leave gaps at the top and bottom. You can use your factory tins to block these holes if you wish. If you do this, you will need to slightly modify them to clear everything properly (see pics).

Price is $300 shipped. What you will get is a custom CNC'd aluminum adapter plate and alignment dowels. We must get 10 to get this done. That being said though, this is not the only group buy their will be. Anthony will also be selling them on other 2.0/2.4 sites. I will keep this updated with a tally.

Here is some pics of the 2.2/2.5 adapter plate design and fitting:

    These are the pre-pre-production shots:

Is the 904 bolt pattern the same as any of the manual transmissions of late?

right now I'm planning on using the ma5 out of the solstice Colorado hummer because I want a stick and rwd

Its the Chrysler small block V8 pattern. 3.9/5.2/5.9 or 3.7/4.7/5.7

The Dakota or Liberty bell housing would be a direct fit and not require an adapter.

Is Anthony the guy with the 2.4T Colt? I spoke with him about one of these in the past. So I'm interested in where this is going.

    yup thats Anthony

Also Reeves thanks for getting together with Anthony on this ! One thing I see is if I could suggest is, since your not drilling and tapping the starter holes, are you going to include a template for marking the holes? It would help some out that are not super skilled in fabrication.

The starter holes are drilled and tapped! All you have to do is drill the wrinkles (threads) out of your current starter!

    ^^what Mike said.
I'd also be curious to know. I tossed around the idea of a 2.4 turbo in my 64 Nova but might be easier if could keep my TH700R4 that resides in there currently.

In which case i might just be interested in 2 adapters total.

A GM transmission can be adapted by attaching a small block Mopar SFI bellhousing to a TH400 or Powerglide if desired.

Reeves, if you were to bolt that piece to the thing in the center with the 8 holes, I bet that would make it stronger.
