    P Body upper door trim

Can you get the clips that go into the channel of the black trim that goes above the window? My trim piece looks good, but the clips are broken and I those to reinstall it obviously.

I found clips that worked at the local Bumper To Bumper auto parts store.

I'm pretty sure these are the same. I ordered a package. If anyone needs some (Gary) just let me know. I know that I don't need 50 of them.

What are people doing for the adhesive on the trim?

I'll need a handful, I know the driver side is shot and I might as well do the passenger side too so I can paint the pieces proper.

I'll just send you enough to do a car then. I know there aren't more than 25 per car.

Those look the same as the ones I used.

For trim adhesive 3M is the way to go.

Thanks a ton for the link. I found it on Amazon with a 15' length for less than $10 shipped.

The trim clips came in the mail today. While not 100% exactly the same I think they should do the job with no issues at all. Gary, I'll try to get yours out to you when my wife goes to the PO next.

Thanks! I pulled my trim off today and all the clips exploded of course. Its going off to the body shop after work and I'll have the car back next Friday and spend the weekend screwing it back together.

How think is the stuff you linked to or ended up using? The stuff I got in the mail is relatively thin and the stuff that was on it was really puffy. I'm afraid it will sit too low in the channel of the trim piece to make contact with the door.

The tape in the link is what I use. If it's too thin, ues two layers.

Sweet. So long as I can use two layers there is no way this stuff won't work. The stuff I have looks just like what you linked to but it's longer. I hope to have this back on the car today.

Re: P Body upper door trim

Just finished reinstalling the trim. It looks way better than it did before removal, although it still leaves a little to be desired where it meets the bottom piece near the mirror. That's due to some careless removal in the past if I had to guess though. The clips and tape worked well. I ended up using three layers of the tape which I'm pretty sure was unnecessary.

I hope to have your clips out tomorrow or Saturday Gary.
