    50-pin male bulkhead connector

Does anybody have a junk harness from an '87 or earlier K/H/G/J body car or a '89/'90 Caravan. I could really use a 50-pin MALE bulkhead connector with about 6" of wiring in order to complete a project. I'm trying to avoid having to sacrifice perfectly good harnesses I have here.

DJ used a different type of harness for his build, called Deutsch connectors, post #30

Ooh I like those but I don't believe it work for the bulkhead.

Let me know what you find Pat. I'd be happy to buy a junk harness off you if it has the right bulkhead connector. This is for a Masi 16v harness transplant into '87 Shelby Lancer.

The one I found had no wire on it. Will look in the attic in a couple of days.

Attachment 56121Still looking. I could really use one of these right now. A junk harness from another Shelby Lancer would be perfect. Here is a picture of what I need.

    Re: 50-pin male bulkhead connector

Engine side? or body side? I have one an engine side connector from a '92 Daytona. But, I stole the boot off it for my Omni harness.

I also have a junk harness from an '87 T1 Daytona that I stole the LM/PM connectors off of to build an adapter. You can have that 50-way if it's what you need.

I need the engine side, which is male 50-pin for my '87 Shelby Lancer.

The '87 TI Daytona harness should have what I need; preferably with the rubber boot if you still have it!

Think I threw the one from my 87 to 88 swap away jeremy. I'll look in the shop when I get a chance.

    Re: 50-pin male bulkhead connector

Thanks for looking Jay. If I can find two of the connectors, I'll buy both.

The picture above is my Shelby Lancer's previous under hood harness which is from a '91 Lebaron GTC (SBEC swap). It worked really well so I'm converting a Masi 16v under hood harness the same way but I don't want to butcher the previous harness to get what I need out of it.

The Lebarons are 50 way too right? There are two Lebarons in a JY somewhat near me, but I won't be able to make it over there for at least three weeks. If they're still there and you're in need I could snag them. I wish I would have thought of this thread when I was in the JY yesterday and saw them.

    Re: 50-pin male bulkhead connector

Pretty much everything except most L-bodies and all P-bodies got the 50 pin bulkhead. As far as I can tell, the 'sex' of the 50 pin bulkhead plug has to do with the model and year. The '87 H-body Lebaron would likely have the right connector, with the connection right at the firewall. Later years (generally '88-up) had a large rubber grommet at the firewall with the main bulkhead disconnect located under the dash and they also reversed the sex of the bulkhead plug.

I think the later years of vans and L-bodies also used a male 50 pin bulkhead, but I want to stick with one from a K-based car so it's likely the pinout config is close enough to work with.

OK, those Lebarons were 88s so they won't work. There was a K wagon in there though. I'll keep an eye out.

That's the female side of the 50-pin bulkhead.

    Re: 50-pin male bulkhead connector

Right, I guess I was saving this to convert a 1987 and older L body dash harness to a Turbo Minivan engine harness.

    Thanks
    Randy

How's this? I actually don't know for sure what it came from. TBI Minivan maybe.
