It seems as though I have no spare oil distribution blocks and I need one. Is anyone using something else or is everyone just sticking with the stock one? Are the stock ones still available?

I've only used the stock ones. But I imagine that a vac distribution manifold from McMaster-Carr would work equally as well. I would get one as short as possible due to vibration though.
I've had two brass 1/8" tees (male NPT to two female NPT) crack just from weight of oil sender unit. IMO, stick to OEM. The 84-85 used a 1/8" NPT inlet and the factory changed to 1/4" NPT because of breakage. Keep that in mind if looking for used. The length and # of outlets varied by a bit too over the years. The 86 through around 88 turbo were about 3/4" longer and had 4 outlets while the later style turbo was shorter and had three outlets. NA still shorter yet with two outlets. I always cut off the goofy inverted flare turbo oil fitting and just redrill and tap for 1/8" NPT.
LMK if you can't find one locally, pretty sure I have extras of both styles.

McMaster also has iron pipe fittings. So might your local hardware store

OK, I was out in the garage yesterday and I found this one which came off of my NA GLH.

Then I did this to it.

Finally I added a plug on the top and an AN fitting on the front. Note that the old style big-mamma-jamma oil pressure sending units won't fit on there with the 90* fitting in place.

I'm confident that with any sort of strain relief on the oil supply line the probability of breaking off a fitting approaches zero.
