i broke some sort of vacuum block on my gas tank(1989 lancer shelby)

I was changing my fuel pump and broke some sort of vacuum block(white with 2 vacuum ports on it)that's on top of the tank right above the fuel pump and fuel sender. does anyone know what its called, the purpose of it and where to get another one or can it be bypassed? Thanks...

Tank vent valve also commonly called the rollover valve. It does serve a legitimate purpose unless you like your car smelling like gas and/or some fuel problems when it gets hot outside so it should be replaced.
