    OBDII. Need PCM help.

First off I would like to state that I do not know much about PCMs or how they are programmed.

So I bought a 2004 Neon SRT4 a couple years ago. Had no problems with passing emissions or anything. Couple of months ago when it came due to get it tested again, I was rejected.
The results on my OBDII were that my cata, evap, and o2 were displayed as not supported. I have not changed, added, or removed anything on the vehicle.

NOTE: Dash does throw the P0633 code.

I have taken my car to the dealership. I was told that my car has a "Mexico PCM and I need a USA PCM." I went to a local shop here in SLC (SLS Performance). I told them my issue and they said the dealership can flash my PCM. (Does this mean back to factory settings?)

Now, I'm not sure where to go from here. I can't really afford a new PCM at the moment. And I'm being told that it is possible that this process could brick my current PCM. Considering this is my only reliable way to work, I really need to have a running car.

Looking forward to much needed advise!

    Re: OBDII. Need PCM help.

Take a peek at the PCM. If it has any stickers that say "not for highway use" or the like it's a mopar performance PCM. The P0633 code means someone installed the PCM and did not program the vin or SKIM code into it, this is usually the telltale that a high performance pcm was installed.

The MP pcm has the downstream O2(catalyst) and the evap system disabled.

I would say it was a major possibility that on your first visit to the sniffer is that they pencil whipped you through and didn't check anything. Post up a wanted ad on here or on other SRT sites for a stock PCM, should be able to pick one up cheap and use it just to pass emissions.

Note: when you get a new PCM you will need to drive it for a good amount of time since it needs to pass all the OBD readiness monitors before they will pass the car.

It does have a mopar sticker on it, but I can't really read anything on it. Much like the one below, except the mopar logo on mine is visible. The VIN sticker matches the VIN on my cars door however.

So my only option is to buy a stock PCM to pass?

Thank you for your help btw.

Also, many places they've been switching over testing from roller and sniffer check and no CEL lit, to no roller and no sniffer and full OBDII code scan.
