When I had my 86 Woody van, 2.6 carb, I lent it to my bro's wife and her friends, they went out partying and with both bench seats, they had 8 girls in it, they loved it, lol.

Front bench and 5spd would be hard.
Not that i didn't already do that in the "worlds only 5spd dodge dynasty".
On pure highway it should get around 27 mpg. Avg around 23.
14.5 on the mitsu is very possible. Only 2 people i know of have EVER run 13.9 with a caravan with a Mitsu turbo. I'd say it's unrealistic for most people. However, a garrett t3 is an easy upgrade and will give you low 13 or even 12 second potential assuming you have the other parts to support it (mostly injectors, exhaust, intercooler, and tuning).
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
I would love to get the bed bench seat for it, is that like unicorn dust in terms of likelihood to find?

I was wondering time slips at seaslevel. I will get horrible times here in CO, but I would like the equivalent to a 14.0-14.5 caravan fully loaded and wondering if possible with the mitsu.
I don't think my friends cracked over 20mpg, though he races anything with a heartbeat in it. It is a riot to drive, 2 piece intake, water/air ic, ported exhaust manny, garrett, ATP swingvalve with a custom 3" into dual 2.5's just as it crosses the rear axle and out the side to look like stock. Dropped a flashable SMEC in it and set the rev limiter to be spark based and it shoots flames out the side I can't drive it for more than 10 minutes for fear of being arrested for felony evading because if a cop tried to pull me over in it I'd probably punch it and laugh the whole time.
12's or low 13's with a Garrett, ROFL, what are you smoking? Maybe if you gutted it to 2000 lbs,
My friend with a plain jane van, no options, ran a mid 16, stock everything except side exit exhaust, 14 psi of boost.
That bed is the holy grail of options, I always find one but its on the other side of the country,

Working on clearing the decks.
What all needs to be done with the manifold exhaust and lives to swap the garret in. Also is they're another option more beneficial than a garret? Ie: the TD04LR in my SRT4 is called an enforcer 1 now, gutted worth a 16gish wheel and clipped exhaust fins. Allows useful 28psi on e85 for 400hp. Anything like that out there?
Also this 2.5T t1, it's not like my 2.2T t1 with the Crappy log?

Just IMO, is that boost coming on at about 3000 is good in a DD 2.5 you want to see some mileage out of. 2.5 runs out of steam at ~3k but is torquey enough to get you moving between 2k and 3k. Bring in boost lower and you have trouble staying out of it granny driving, and higher, you get a lot of lag. Put a big turbo on a 2.5 and I think the driving experience is like..
rawrrwr, oh wtf, did I stand on the brake, waiting, waiting RAAAAWWWWWWWR.
Unless you go to a 16V head which makes it more punchy on it's own from ~3k to ~4k methinks.
Then also having too much more torque below 3000 just turns it into a tire shredder. You can probably tweak a few hundred RPM each way with cam timing, but at expense of losing top end or making it rough at idle.

Yeah DD'ability is what matters the most since it will be doing long trips. Speed comes second, but I would like to have some punch of course which is the reason we all buy these.
So quick easy dirty upgrades?:
1) Intercooler, how to, what type, what is needed, what psi loss? Will an SRT-4 Stock IC work?
2) Stock injectors good for 13.5-14.0 or bump them up? Will 04-05 Stock SRT Injectors work? Progressive, spacers, wiring?
3) Cold Air Intake beneficial to wheel well?
4) Easy cheap 3" exhaust possibilities?
5) FWD LM tune or grainger valve to what psi? This is a Mitsu Turbo right? 18psi I hear is max?
6) What else cheap power gains are there to piece together over the summer?
Engine Bay: Stock Stock. 185k, oil done every 4k and he said it eats maybe 1/2 QT. My SRT eats 2!
Yes bigger injectors. TU has an inexpensive 3" tube kit for the exhaust. Yes 15-18 psi is max. Stock MAP sensor is only good for 14 point something. "Cheap" and easy, maybe nitrous.. See Gus' site for an example of great ET's with a small shot on a budget mini build.

lol I'll try to stay off the juice, not a big fan of fake hp.what size injectors would be sufficient? I think 04 stock SRT4 ARE 577CC. Then something about a GM 3bar?
Yes, a Daytona, we are talking about a van, totally different. What gets you 12's in a car doesn't get you 12's in a van. A good driver, slicks, perfect combo and tune might get a TII van in the low 13's but all ducks better be a row and not fully optioned. Some might have done it, IE you or Terry Ryan but you guys are anal about prep and tune, most of us aren't.
Ok, you need to back up, you're all over the map.
Lets start again, what do you want out of the van? Daily driver with some more grunt or 300+ WHP.

I bow down before Gus, Gary, Joe, and you other on-budget quick guys.. crazy.

I guess from the mixed responses, I figured I could have both. Maybe not 300.. what hp is needed to pull this sled with 2 rear seats removed? I'm essentially starting with 150/180? What is max on Mitsu with daily use reliability and possible to get 14.0?
3000 pounds is 3000 pounds, doesn't matter if its a van or a Daytona. More frontal area with a van which will impact mph on the top end but ET not so much.
I'll repeat what I said- "A decent intercooler, a Garrett and a tight calibration and you would be running low 13's all day in a van."
I'd be willing to wager on it, been done several times now. I ran 12.6 with a stock intercooler, a decent sized cooler is a huge advantage over a restrictive stocker..

what stock IC though, this doesn't have one I thought?

Here is what Gus did- Note the best he ran with the mitsu was 13.9-14.1 I'd not waste my time with one as it is way too restrictive.

They do not from the factory, I was using the Daytona as an example. A good intercooler is money well spent.
