That looks right to me after looking at my 89 and 90 cars. Both with manual seats. The only thing I could think of would be a different mounting point on the 87 car. I know there were a ton of 1 year items on the 87 cars so that wouldn't surprise me.

The later seat tracks mount on an angle, the early cars are on a vertical plane. I'll try to take a picture in a bit.

Forgot to mention that I also went through the steering column- Installed a new ignition lock and switch and replaced the damaged upper and lower column covers and painted the timed key lamp cover.

Comparison of the brackets that are in the car and a set of 1990+ brackets. As you can see there is over an inch difference between the two.

Also a measurement showing the distance between the steering wheel and seat. If someone with a stock car could check what they have I'd be grateful.

Stock CSX-T steering wheel? If so then my seat is at least an inch too high in the front.

Light day planned for tomorrow- Going to pop off the oil pan and reseal. The boys are going to sand the mirrors and go over several other pieces with trim black and maybe pull the rear bumper and wing for the body shop.

Those aren't stock seats. I swapped my seats on my 87 CSX with those from an 89 and it sits up higher, even with the stock 87 brackets.

The interior of the CSX was definitely designed with the crappy low-line seats in mind. If you decide to upgrade, you can't really see the top of the instrument cluster and your legs will be closer to the steering wheel.

Yes I know they are ES seats, but the brackets are clearly taller than the later angled brackets.

Time permitting the welder will come out to fix.

I did some digging around, it looks like the 87 Shadow and Sundance 2-dr and 4-dr seat tracks are a one year only part number. Curious.

Oil pan has been resealed, tires mounted and the rear bumper is off. Ended up having to clean up 3 of the rims on the sealing surfaces of course and painting to protect the surfaces.

After work were going to try and get some trim done, yesterday was pretty spotty for progress IMHO. Need to call the body shop.

Paint will determine go/no go status this week.

Man, where do you get the energy & $$$???

I got my Daytona running right, and have just been enjoying that. Probably going to start bodywork in a couple of weeks... I have enough trouble keeping up with two cars, let alone the 6+ you have...

Price on the cars too good to pass up along with the garage full of parts. Faith has claimed the Rampage (we have to freshen the motor, cracked piston) but should otherwise be turn key. GLHS needs more work and my sons might take a crack at putting it back together.

Tonight I painted the CSX mirrors, inside mirror bezels, wiper arms, headlamp bezels and fixed and painted cowl cover.

It is getting a trifle out of hand.

What do you recommend for painting the trim and things like wiper arms?

I used Plasticote trim black and Duplicolor have a nice semi-gloss enamel that works well on the wiper arms.

Forgot to mention the mirror bodies were in really tough shape, I may replace them in the future. Aftermarket ones are available for $24 each

They will do for now though.
