Satan still trying to collect on his vehicle, but running out of places to hide!

While the head was off decided it would be good policy to change out the valve guide seals, polish the valves, clean the chambers and do some un-shrouding, etc and look what was hiding on the backside of the number 3 intake valve.

Never, ever have I seen a SOHC valve with a crack like that. This car has been chock full of surprises.

You deserve some time off from this thing! It did make it to SDAC and back in one piece. One fantastic-looking, questionably-running piece with no air conditioning, but one piece nonetheless.

CSX back in its natural habitat, up on jackstands! Changed out the rear shocks and dinked around with the rear caliper. Bushings fit but don't seem all the much tighter.

Re: 1987 CSX for SDAC 2015

Came up with a set of TII rods and Mahle pistons and they are going in tomorrow!

Won't be running as I have other things to tinker with while the engine is apart.

Re: 1987 CSX for SDAC 2015

Four Mahle pistons all snug in their beds, oil pan buttoned up, head is in place and torqued down.

Might be running tomorrow but I doubt it, no hurry to make a mistake. Still have to change out the pass axle, clean a bunch of grease off firewall and power steering pump. Going to play with the motor mounts a bit to improve the axle angles.

    And its freaken hot here.

Forgot to mention- Looked into the oil return hose, it was shot of course. Good thing I had spares.

EVERYTHING needs to be looked at close on this car. The good news is I'm running out of things to look at.

Between the Rampage and CSX the stash has been taking some hits.

Good thing I believe in extras and then some more for good measure..

I guess that means you'll be getting in on Johnny's new batch of Rampage swaybars (anitswaybars?) then

    Nope.

The Rampage is more vehicle already than my wife needs or wants.

She went for a ride in the GTX for the first time yesterday, for extra spice a Z06 Corvette decided to play on the highway on the way to a car show.

    Z06 lost.

And that was with the GTX toting 4 people. In all fairness to the Z06 I had the 4.10's in the back and the GTX is in good tune. I could see Faith clutching the armrest out of the corner of my eye. She is a good sport but high speed shenanigans is not her favorite thing.

CSX is ALIVE! Bwhahah. Fired up tonight and has sweet ring seal already. Still have some other issues to address, might be road testing tomorrow after work.

    Times awasting!

Did I mention its still flipping hot? I heaved the a/c's in the house this afternoon after work. The workshop has one installed, pity I wasn't working in there. Was like 70!

Was 95F in the big garage and I was sweating like a greased pig. eww. I need to install that 24,000 BTU a/c unit I scored for 'nothing.
