Going to start with the 52/59... if it runs an 11.0 as calculated.. one step up.
Track officials will freak if I pop off a 11.0 with no rollbar, I'll have one more pass if lucky.
Working on clearing the decks.
Spent the last 2 days replacing lines, Fram GC-1 fuel filter, checking and clearing all the nitrous related lines (had to replace one, cracked) and doing some wiring.
In the one pic you can see a bracket I made up 2 decades ago with a fresh micro switch. When the rear carb sees WOT it goes to ground which fires a relay providing juice to the solenoids.
Pulled a valve cover to look about and make some adjustments, valves are lashed at .020/.020 and unchanged from the last time I had the cover off 2 years ago.
Everything is pretty much ready to go aside from mounting the slicks, ordering new seatbelts and getting a locking trans dipstick for good measure.

P.S. Jets are currently 52/59 till I can order new sets. 2 bottles are full and one has about 6 pounds in it. Will do a road test with that one in a few days. Want to pump out all the gas in the tank and make sure there is nothing but fresh stuff when I head out along with a little 110 octane.

While my son was pulling wrenches on the Dusters's transmission I was working on the CSX calibration.
Ver. 171 was run at Cecil
Ver. 180 was given a spin tonight
Ver. 181 will be tried tomorrow.
Working on clearing the decks.
Forgot to mention why tweaking calibration- Going to take CSX to the track this fall too and see if I can best its 12.80 pass.

Gonna make Mopar Day at Lebanon Valley?
Work on the Duster and CSX continues..
Duster- Trans is on the bench, will disassemble today, goal is to improve 2-3 shift timing.
CSX- Just finished calibration 182. Adjustments to AIS strategy and fueling changes in the pumping table.
Based on numbers from Cecil, the 12.80 pass is darn close to optimum for the mph. Might have been a 12.73 if everything was just right so therefore more power will be required to do get deeper in the 12's.
The next outing with be with the boost set for "all of it" and we will see just how well this chinese center cartridge is balanced. Some tweaks in the calibration will help and I have a few other tricks to put in place. A ported exhaust manifold would be nice but I don't have the time nor inclination to pull the head off again at this juncture.

Still tweaking calibration, up to version 185
One thing I always hated was the big flare some of these cars have on cold start up and that is currently what I'm working on. I have reduced it quite a bit but still 200-300 more rpm than I'd like. Tweaked the AIS start position cold, reduced the prime shot, reduced cold start fueling and have been rummaging around a few other areas. Seems half fuel, half AIS related. If I unplug the AIS (locking in one position) its almost good.

I break the pintle off the AIS motor, fill the passage with gorilla glue, bump the cold advance a couple degrees and go. Car fires up in -10 degree weather just fine to about 1100rpms, and warm idle is 900rpms. So much nicer to drive with a stick. The rpms fall to idle fast though so a change in driving style and shifting speed is needed slightly.
good luck. Even turning all the AIS schedules off that thing still moves a bit. Even un-plugging it the thing moves open slowly over a couple weeks so that's why I totally sealed off the passage. I'd say try messing with the cold timing. Advancing mine 2-4 degrees brought the cold idle up 200rpms so maybe retarding it from stock will bring that down.
I have it fairly close- Reducing the AIS position vs temp on start helped a lot. Before it would shoot over 2300 rpm. The computer would pull it right back down but you could hear the rods rattle till pressure comes up which drives me nuts. Now it is around 1700 rpm and pops right down to 1100-1200 or so. Another 100-200 rpm and I'll be satisfied and lock it down and start long term testing it. Might even upload for general public use after hitting the track in the fall.

Success!
After letting the car sit overnight when I started the car this morning it actually was BELOW the target fast idle speed and the ECU had to bring the idle speed up 200 rpm after the initial fire.

I was working on the same thing in Mini some time ago.
Between two cals i did something which induced that initial start flare. I think it was mostly caused by the timing advance in park/neutral.
I still need to work on it, as it still seems to have a bit more start rpm than i'd like.
Which tables made the most successful improvements?

Still picking away- CSX is ready aside from an exhaust dump I'm adding, the GTX just needs the slicks mounted and I'm just finishing up on the Duster's transmission, rear main seal and carb tuning. Duster now has 6/6 in the trans front drum and holds tight.
