Humidity has been off the scale. Typical New England, 2-3 weeks of soaking temps and humidity.

Seems OK to go a little off topic, oh wait, your thread and you started the AC topic Gary A Nuerosurgeon friend/client of mine that lives in a $1.5M beach house in Newport Beach doesn't have AC cause, well, it's the beach. His House has been stifling because SoCal is having a weird Ohio like summer with humidity over 80%. (yeah guys I know it's like 97% where you live but we just don't see this in Cali) So since the Doc's parents are gonna stay with him for a week, we set off to Costco for a 14,000 BTU room unit. First Costco all sold out. Now we get smart and look online at the next closest 3 city away Costco, yep they have em. Drive over and guess what? They've sold 6 in the last 45 minutes. GAH! Off to Best Buy. They have it but now he wants to price shop and use their match-any-competitors-price feature. Wew're Two hours into this foray, the oyster bar we were planning all afternoon is closing in 20 minutes and the E Sport is on fumes. Choking down 4 dozen oysters because they are sweeping under our feet and turning out the lights is not my idea of an enjoyable meal 2 nightclubs and a bar later it's 1am, so what do we do then? Carry his 100lb unit up to his third story guestroom, unbox the unit, and assemble/install the vent hose. I almost had him talked into cutting a hole in the drywall with my knife and sticking it there, the scotch made it seem like a good idea Room cools in like 3 minutes, Doc is happy, it's a living...

Fun and games here at work- One office had no a/c and I was told that it could not be installed.
BWHAHAHAHAHA
Took a piece of white corrugated plastic from Home Depot, cut it the same sign as the screen. Taped it to the screen after cutting out an exhaust opening and taping the flange to the plastic.
Instant a/c.

Back on the road... with caveats.
1) Engine runs fine but I did get a lifter rattle on start up once or twice cold.. at least I hope it is a lifter. Boost is limited to 7 psi but I have run it up to 6000 once or twice with a few long decels to help pull a vacuum past the rings.
2) Fixed the a/c compressor. The two lower bolts were missing and the upper nuts were the wrong thread.
3) Cleaned some of the axle grease off the motor and p/s pump and k-member, will pressure wash the rest tomorrow.
4) centered the motor and tinkered with the mounts.
5) Passenger axle I installed is bad, it binds up time to time. I'll have to replace it before I feel comfortable with the car. ugh.
6) No more rattling caliper, thank God.
7) Installed timing belt covers top and bottom, were missing when I purchased the car. Replaced p/s belt at same time.

Swapped the axle out, long road test tonight.
No issues.

Drove into work this morning to put some miles on it, plan on doing a leakdown test this weekend to see where the ring seal is at out of curiosity.

I was thinking of doing the same out of curiousity in Mini.

1) A few pictures from yesterday, I did a number of errands with the car to put some miles on it. Motor mounts still don't feel 100% and the caliper still rattles but only on very bad roads. Time to stiffen up the mounts a bit and order a caliper with the correct glides. Car ran flawless so at least it has that going for it.
2) Polished the rims again today after giving the car a good bath yesterday. The Simple Green clouded the clearcoat a bit. I need to send a set of rims out for polishing and blackout.
3) Think I'm going to convert the car back to factory intercooler if I can get a radiator done without breaking the bank. I'll be able to run what I want to run with the car with a single cooler and I'll rather have maximum clearence under the car with the crappy roads around here.
Today was leakdown testing day!
With the car warmed up Kyle and I broke out the leakdown tester and came up with the following numbers.
#One 3% #Two 1% #Three 3% #Four 3%
Considering the condition of the bores and the fact the car still has under 100 miles on it I'm rather pleased with the test results so far.

3% leakdown!!!!! Congratulations!
Of course there would be some complication.
Pulled the new turbo I radiator out of the car to test fit a p-body intercooler with daytona turbo II radiator to find out what I had to modify to get it to work. For some reason the radiator runs into the coolant tank. Looked up in the parts manual and found out to my horror that the 87 CSX has a unique coolant tank PN 4467463

I have an 88 tank now in there since the car was missing its original. The parts book states it was used from late 87-88. The 87 CSX has its own part number, 87 CSX and I'm assuming its slightly smaller to clear the intercooler. Right now the intercooler is pressed up against the tank and I still need 3/8" clearence.
Looking at the car, I'm thinking about running the intercooler plumbing through the rad support. It would not be a big deal to weld up the sheet metal later if someone wanted to return the car to stock configuration. My other option is to find another CSX radiator and coolant tank, which my checkbook states will be another $400 bill.
For $400 I'll bust out the hole saw unless I find a parts car. I know where there is one for sale but the seller is unresponsive.
