I'm thinking I'll paint a Shlby valve cover for the CSX T. And an intake manifold.
So then I'll probably pull the head and do some more porting on it too...
    Some day it'll be done.

VHT makes good stuff. Only wish they offered stuff in sprayable quantities.

    Re: Blue and Wrinkled

    follow directions on vht can

oh and don't lean on the valve cover until it has a few heat cycles or a week or so to cure compleately

uncured and leaning on it can cause the paint skin to slip n slide on the part you painted

the paint might not rip or split but a definate slide or streach line will show without great effort

    Clean and degrease.
    Strip the old paint off.
Prep the raised letters and ribs (brushed or polished)
Two coats of paint and put it under a heat lamp for 15 minutes.

The heat brings out the wrinkles and cures the paint.

The new cans of VHT wrinkle state the paint will wrinkle without heat. I tried it on a piece of scrap, but is did not wrinkle much.

Heat is the way to go.

    Re: Blue and Wrinkled

did you paint it with 2 coats , each applied holding the can 90* to the other coat?

it's the different angle that causes the wrinkle "grain"effect

to thin or not useing the two different spray directions will give little or no wrinkle effect

    Re: Blue and Wrinkled

Yes I like the vht wrinkle spray can. I did a valve cover a couple years ago in black with it and used my ex's hairdryer on it to get more of a wrinkle finish and cure faster. Turned out better than what I thought it would.

    Re: Blue and Wrinkled

I used the red on my TIII intake and valve covers, used an old BBQ to cure them.

Might have to change to blue, hmmmmmm.
