    1st Gen Neon Pad Recommendations

What do you guys recommend for a 1st gen Neon. It's time to do the front brakes and I would like something with a bit more bite if possible. Of course being on TM you already know that I don't want to pay much for the upgrade. To compound this, the car that they are going on is a steaming pile of crap. I do however want to stop in it still. I'm thinking $30-40 bucks shipped if possible. If nothing is out there I'll go with the $5 specials off of rockauto.

For some reason I think you should just run an 11" 91-94 setup.

Do the wagners wear rotors evenly?

I can't get away from organics, everything else I tried, the feel sucks, or feels like you need to two foot the pedal to stop, or it carves rotors up, I put up with the dust to stop.

I love squeaking brakes. Glad I opted for those. I also got some sweet vented rotors for about $9 each. I'm sure they'll be top quality.

If you could see a picture of the car you would be amazed that I'm putting new brakes on it at all.

Maybe not, it's easier to get a payday from being rearended after all ....

Nah, that's been my MO over the years too, don't care what it looks like, or if it sounds like a bag of nails, as long as it stops on a dime and can jink and weave like a pretty waitress in a redneck bar at happy hour.

This thing has no good paint left, and not much paint at all really. It sounds like a diesel; and due to the nearly complete conversion of the muffler into Feo2 it's as loud as one too.

You'd be surprised at how long beercan, muffler cement and hoseclamp or wire tie patches can last....

I got to the stage with the Escort that pretty much the only replacements available were only lasting a year, so then just patched it up with "survivor" lengths of tube that I had from the last 3 times I did it... then it got to be more muffler clamps than tube and I custom fitted an alternative application from Bosal. (I guess because number of GTs/Proteges/323s around was more worth producing for than 1.9 Escorts) Totally turned me off Walker, their stuff for it was trash. Not sure what's the good one for Neons now, though in some cases, I think it's worth going for the Rockauto clearance/surplus stock that has a chance of being NOS that was old enough to have been made somewhat decent.
