    Recommended oil for AC system

    Hello All,
I have just leaked checked my 88 Daytona AC system system on the garage floor before I install into the 87' Sundance. I will be cleaning on the lines, new compressor etc.
I am planning to use the hydrocarbon based 12a, so which oil is recommended to use on a clean empty system with a recon A590? According the the 12a(RedTek)website MO,PAG,POE and AB are just fine.
Since I don't have access to the AC sticker from the Daytona I assume it is a 32oz system.

Likely a 32oz system. I recommned FJC 2408 Estercool Oil. Comes in an 8oz bottle so you use almost the whole thing but dont have a ton left to sit around and gather dust. $7 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

RedTek also sells a universal oil charge for use with their refrigerant.

R12 used mineral oil, and the hydrocarbon refrigerants are fully compatible with it as well. As such, I'd use the OE spec'd mineral oil and call it a day! No need to scrub out the other oils or worry about compatibility of the hoses, etc with the new oil.

If you were going to use R143a, you would have to use an ester or pag oil to be compatible with the refrigerant, but luckily you don't have to worry about that!

Pag oil, they do make a conversion oil. I use an oil from Wurth Canada, has the dye in it.

tryingbe has a custom setup with the later Nippondenso 10PA17C compressor and custom hoses for the hot 100+ degree Arizona weather. ...

The later Nippondenso compressor is good for conversions in the fact that it has a high pressure cut off switch which can shut the compressor down if pressures are too high.

Great! What year/model cars are these from?
Much to change to install it? (besides the custom hoses)
And where do you get custom AC hoses made?

    A.J. gave me the answer....
1991-94 shadow and using the bracket and lines also from that years.

(I would think a spirit or something would work also.)
