Why '84? Because they seem to be the ultimate sleeper omnis because they don't have the side skirts, front air dam or big "Shelby" stickers on them; only a non-descript GLH label on the back, in addition to the black bumpers, driving lights, and aluminum wheels..... I've been looking for a while, and even though they weren't the lowest in production of the GLH's, they sure are hard to find.... I wonder what happened to all of them....

I went to the parts store and asked for a speedo cable for an omni. Both people behind the counter had never heard of an omni. I'm sure they get to yards and get crushed instantaneously.

    Good luck on your search!

you ever think of making a clone? i mean, the glh n/a is just an omni with an ho carbed 2.2, and different rear swing arm, still 4 lug smallish brakes. Are you looking for a glh for "collectability" or for fun? does it have to be carbed? all the trim can be stripped from a turbo glh easily and sold. i wouldnt even call the trim package un-sleeper, i think all omnis should have came with it from the factory.

i actually had a black one, grey interior and factory sunroof i think, but somehow it got stolen and never recovered.

    Re: 1984 Omni GLH project

I found a red one in Arizona, but it was repainted with a spray can, missing parts, and the bottom end of the engine was trashed. But I'm sure other ones will pop up eventually. Looking for one for the collectability and also to drive for fun! I've never seen any year Omni GLH in a car show (and I've been to alot of car shows), I think they would be a pretty awesome conversation piece. Alot of the younger kids of today have no idea that they can jump into the show car/ high performance car culture with a $500-1500 purchase of an '80's Shelby!! I'll bet most younger kids of today don't even know they existed!!

so would you plan on swapping in a turbo motor or keeping it carbed?

alrighty, that's cool, they are pretty fun stock, but the original carbs are junk, so id upgrade that if you find one... good luck!
