    An A523 with a factory 3.85 FD?

On Friday I took a quick tour of the local U-Pull-It and found a base model Shadow with a what I believe was a2.5 TBI. I took a quick look at the ID tag to see if it was anything I could use and saw the strangest thing. A A523 built in 1990 with a 3.85FD listed on it. I thought that the 523s523 came only with a 3.5 or 3.77 FD. Anyone else come across an oddball like this? Once I get the computer and such up &running I'll post a pic of the tag.

Odd to see one in a P body but yes they do exist. The 3.77 was the replacement for both of the earlier units.

It's still there because I had 15 minutes to get a mirror. No other time available since I'm moving.

I hear ya on gathering all ya can. There's a half dozen complete units in the garage, 3 partial transmissions and the internals to at least 6 others in boxes. I never want to have to move them again.

Seems like the only good way to store engines and transmissions is with a forklift which is completely unreasonable for the average joe.

    lol no ,
you simply need a garage like mine
2 car with 4 feet of space to either side of the door

and maybe a pick up truck project that never moves that sits high enough to hide motors and tranys under ... lots of motors lol

moveing soon , man I'm gonna miss my work space badly

My silly house garage doesn't seem wide enough to properly open doors :/

I googled forklifts and it looks like 1500-2k is possible. I could see a second level shelf getting filled with an engine hoist but that would be really labor intensive. Pumping those jacks is annoying.

I have seen the A523 with 3.85 gearing in very base cars as well as vans.
