So I purchased the parts to do this: http://www.minimopar.net/speedsensor.html I plan on simply splicing the 3-pin connector on and replacing the sensor since my car already has an electronic speedometer.

RockAuto actually has the sensor available with the proper pigtail packaged with it. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=930607

Two questions:

1. In Russ' writeup, he says you can use 5V or 8V to power the new sensor. Does anybody have a 1993+ FSM that could tell me how it was done originally? Was it 5V or 8V? I'd like to stick with the way Ma Mopar intended.

2. I didn't see any prior threads about doing this. Has anyone done it successfully? Any long-term experiences out there?
