    SRT and PT engine differences

Just saw my 1st PT GT Cruiser in a wrecking yard and was wondering which drivetrain parts in general are the same as the SRT?

Re: SRT and PT engine differences

The engine, other than the intake manifold and the absence of an oil cooler on some models, is identical between the PTGT and SRT4.

Manual or automatic? The manual transmission is a Getrag 288S, which is different from any other turbo Dodge transmission, and also differs from the T350/T850. If the shift knob is still in it, you'll notice that reverse is up on the left like the 80's fwd Dodge transmissions. It's supposed to be an excellent transmission, but there aren't many out there. I swear I read somewhere that the inboard axle splines are different compared to the rest of our transmissions, but don't hold me to that.

I'm pretty sure the automatic is just a slightly beefier 41TE.
