    I'm coming back!!!!!!

I guess the sexiness of the TIII engine is just too much for me, so I just closed a deal on an unmolested, very original 91 Spirit R/T. The bad boy still has the original exhaust on it!!!! The gentleman I bought it from is very proficient with these cars, so I made a deal with him to install a 92 150 mph speedometer, and he is going to fix a sag in the headliner and touch up some road rash. But I'll tell ya, the car rides like a brand new car!

Cool! The TIII is still my favorite. Lifters are expensive, but other than that it's not too bad $.

Simon: the T III is a lot like a beautiful woman who knows she's beautiful, eh?

Jeremy: After reading your posts for the last couple years it seems like ya do kinda like T III s a lil bit. Lol. And I don't mind paying for parts, I just wish they were more readily available.

    Tazaroo: thank you, sir!

Lifters, rocker arms, plus can't get cam sensors anymore I believe, plus the cost of spare heads, cams, sigh.

    Re: I'm coming back!!!!!!

Honestly it seems like back in '03-'08 TIII parts were fetching a lot better prices. You can find stuff pretty easily now and they aren't all that 'rare', especially compared to Masi 16v stuff.

The "price of admission" to convert a car to TIII isn't too bad. Of course, buying a used Spirit R/T or IROC R/T is probably a lot cheaper...

The lifters will always be expensive, but stock parts like heads, cams, manifolds come up for sale all the time and good deals can be had nowadays. Even the 'little' things like bracketry and good timing belt tensioners are available for not much $$. If one is willing to do research, some rewiring, and careful shopping than it's a great way to get a car an 'old car' to 16v DOHC status and reap the benefits while sidestepping a massively ported 8v race head.

In my experienced opinion, I would say the problems of the TIII are generally blown out of proportion and the rarity of parts is also. Maybe I'll finally consider the Masi 16v superior someday but parts availability is huge.
