I have a 1989 Shelby lancer(factory black with grey leather interior)and would like to find out how many were made and which production # this one was made(I cant find the production # plate on it) the vin# is 1B3BH7823KN559265. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Billy.

The Lancer Shelby was a Chrysler offering. Its not going to be a numbered car like the 1987 Shelby Lancer.

However the silver lining is that it actually has better parts than the serial number'd Shelby's that were assembled in Whittier. It has a forged crank instead of cast, it has fully floating wrist pin pistons(what we call TII pistons here) and a Getrag 555 transmission instead of the notably less sturdy 520 trans that the Red only SL's got. Plus you have that cool top wing Welcome. We'd like to hear more about your car

209 Lancer Shelbys were built in 1989. I haven't seen a break down by color or options.
I have an 89 Lancer Shelby, white with gray leather.

It was garaged years ago when the original owner found out that there wasnt many produced and he passed away, I bought it from his son a few years back and decided to start driving it recently but it wont crank (not getting fuel to the engine). It has 70k original miles and a perfect body, paint and interior (minus the headliner sagging in the back) and needing a good bath from all the dust collected from being parked for 20 years. I'll try to post some pictures later. Thanks for all the info.. Billy.

Please post some pictures if you can. The black colour Lancer Shelby is (I believe) very rare. I have seen several red and white ones, but only one very poor cell phone camera picture of a black one.
