1988 chrysler t&c radio problem.

Hi, I have a 1988 Chrysler Town & Country wagon with a strange radio problem. Most of the time when I turn on the radio it doesn't work.
I leave it on and while driving, if I turn on the turn signal or use the power window or turn on the rear wiper the radio will start to work. I'm not sure of the connection between these. Is this the symptoms of a bad radio? I know some of the radios of this era were problematic.

I put in a radio from a 2000 Dodge Dakota and it solved my problems. The radio works when it should, the rear speakers are now working and all of the static sounds that I thought may have been bad speakers has disappeared.

I think you've got some wiring issues, it's backfeeding power or ground through other circuits. If you look under dash and find melted wiring, go looking for fractured wiring and shorts in the tailgate and door hinge harnesses.... I know that sounds like it's a long way from the problem, but I've seen issues propagate from those areas.
