It's done in the cal, based on speed. Find your maximum speed in each gear, and set the target boost accordingly.
Aha, didn't know that. Cal and AFPR are the last pieces of my puzzle before I add some beef to my '89 Shadow. Just has RMVB, T3 turbo, 3" exhaust and +20s right now. Intercooler, ported/polished two piece intake and 58? throttle body, 3" wastegate, 3 bar MAP, +40s, ported exhaust mani, Walbro 255 on the shelf waiting.
Back to traction.......anyone know what the max size tire will fit under the Shadow? Those Mickey ET Street Rs sure look sweet. Will the 225/50R15 (24x9.50R15) squeeze in there?
Thanks, Randy
Yes, I have, and it worked great!! I used MSD RPM switches triggered by the vehicle speed sensor and then had the switches operate solenoids that would bleed off boost pressure going to the wastegate. Each stage (3) was fully adjustable of both of speed activation and boost pressure. And the whole setup was activated with a WOT switch.

So the best alignment is to tell the shop to set everything to zero? Will that affect the handling at all? Taking my shadow in to get aligned this week.
Great thread!! Multiple boost settings are a must have but some old timers like me mount a switch on the shifter to manually control boost. 6-12-18-24 psi for me.
Thanks

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

I always set mine myself with a tape measure. 0 toe and a 1/4" of negative camber. Works great in the corners, drag car might do good with less camber though.
