My axle is stuck in my diff. Not sure how to get it out.

My axle is stuck to the point of me removing the diff with it in there. I can't push the roll pin out of the diff pin to get the spiders out. Not sure how to get this apart without destroying parts.

Find someone with a roll pin driver set and get the diff pins out first. There's no other way to get those out. After that, just use a good punch & hammer and with the punch centered on the axle, lay into it.

You could try a large ball joint pickle fork between the axle and extension housing.

Get the roll pin and cross shaft out then slap the whole thing up in a press and press it out. The constant load will be a lot better on things vs shock loads. I do believe I tossed my 568 diff out or I'd give it to you for parts. Ill check in my stash of parts tomorrow and see if its in my trans stuff. I should also have an extension housing if you utterly destroy everything in the process.

Only if he hits it with a 50lb sledge....lol. I see pressing it as a better idea, but if he doesn't have a press, then using a good punch and a 5lb hand maul will not hurt it. If it did, he should be using it.

Getting the roll pin out seems to be the impossible task. I need to get a new drift or two today and keep at it. Thanks for the information.

Bolt the diff to a strong bench.

Put a bearing seperator around the axle.

Push the two apart using a body jack.

Might be able to pull pin with an "EZ-out" broken screw/bolt remover.
