Anyone have a pic of their yellow tag from proportioning valve?

Trying to figure out if the tag I have is white or yellow. I think its yellow... Its a pretty dull yellow though, so not sure if it is that or just an aged tag, so its yellowish, but originally white?? Took a pic of it with camera, but the pic makes it look white... so no help there.
    Thanks...

I can probably get you a pic of my two by tomorrow. Both of mine have yellow tag on them that is clearly yellow. I do have part #'s that are stamped on part. Part #'s 8299269 & 8298244

Ok. Thanks! The part number stamped on the one in the shadow is 8290227. The one from the daytona is 8961353. Since your yellow's start with 829, I am thinking that maybe the one I have with part number 896 might just be a white...?

829 is for 4 wheel 11" vented disc brakes.

771 is for 10" front disc rear drums.

And I believe the tag on one of my 829's is yellow. I don't like to go by the tag as they're usually missing.

If you guys sort out the part numbers it would be good to put them in the KC. I am not sure if I even have a tag on my prop valve anymore.

Excellent info! Do you know other part numbers? What is an 896? 829 is what came off the 92 shadow w rear drums. Who knows though if it was factory or no . This car has had a lot if work! Thank you for the 829 info! So, is an 829 a .43 or .27 prop valve? What about the 896?

Not only that, but I believe they reused some of the colors with different prop valves over the years.

Okay here is pic of my two yellow tagged P. valves. Both came off 4 wheel disk brake applications for sure.

I can say with absolute certainty the disc/drum equipped Shadow sitting out in the driveway has a yellow tag valve, it is totally 100% original and I can say that because the car has been with us since it was brand new. From the research I did via the parts catalogs the 'yellow tag' prop valve was used on both disc and disc/drum brake cars if you choose to believe the parts catalog numbers. The catch being it was used on the 11" front and rear vented disc brakes aka the 15" wheels option described in the service manual. The 10" front and solid rear disc brakes used something else entirely.

Thanks guys! My tag is no where near that yellow. A very dull color, so I guess I will go with it being white... Part on shadow is def 829. Part from 92 Daytona is def 896. Is there a reference or lookup somewhere that shows if the 896 is the .27? I would hate to put the Daytona valve in to find out its a .43 as well. Its a pita given the working room. Thanks again!

Completely agree with you. Your info given is always dead on. I've also seen yellow tagged valves on disk/drum vehicles. Pretty sure they were P-bodies as well.

Yup, my '90 Daytona (disc/drum) and a parts '90 that is long gone (disc/drum) were both yellow tags. IMHO they are the best stock one to use on a Daytona with the 11" brakes, although I STILL have to run brake pads with a lower agressiveness than the fronts or I'll get premature rear wheel lock-up under threshold braking.

Yeah, the yellow is a 400 .43 though. That is why I am hoping that the white 400 .27 will be a better setup. Less pressure to the rears.
Hopefully we can figure out if 4509896 is a .27 or if its a .43

Re: Anyone have a pic of their yellow tag from proportioning valve?

I can't remember if it's the same split/slope, but my '88 Shelby Z had a white tag on it. With the 11" brakes it was HORRIBLE!! Even with stock brakes it locked up the rear too early. I had a friend with the same exact problem...again '88 Shelby Z.

    Just my personal experiences. YMMV

For the slopes and crossovers I did a bunch of work on this years ago:

    http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/kn...-Valve-Options

This shows the prop valves that seem reasonable for rear disc brakes. I think I skipped the ones from drum brake cars that didn't make sense.
