    SRT IC in a Pbody?

Anyone have pics or info on doing this? I searched the forums and found one guy running one, but that's it. If I have to I will mod the endtank like I did for my NY but would prefer not too. Any pics would be great.

I'll try to find a picture tomorrow, but I've had what you're asking about. In my case, I removed the fog lights and brackets as well as really trimming the bumper cover to fit.

I did nothing special about the oval end , just fit a softer hose around it and tightened the clamp. For me, this was installed after using a slim volvo unit until it broke and before using my current ebay intercooler that's much larger and has bigger inlet/outlet as well as a bar and fin design.

On the plus side, I managed a 12.7@107 with that i/c and 266whp with 337wtq. on about 18 psi

Thats what I was thinking to Jay. Im not afraid of cutting, but I think this free intercooler is going to be more work then its worth. I need to get off my wallet and weld the two t bird ICs I have together or buy a ebay unit.

I've done it. I believe there may be pictures on here, but that was a long time ago. IMO they aren't worth the hassle on a TM. There are too many coolers which should do just as well with no cutting etc.

I cut the straight endtank of one and made a new tank that made it point to the drivers side for my NY and it worked great. Im just being lazy and dont want to mess with that on this one.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to run one. They get rid of them because of their lack of potential and then for you its also a fitment problem. I wouldn't hack my car up over a free not so great intercooler.

Re: SRT IC in a Pbody?

I think the SRT IC gets a bad rap. SRTs have such a small turbo, and most guys run them way out of their efficiency range. So in that application a massive intercooler will give good gains. I also think a lot of guys upgrade them too just to get that "look". I'm wanting to put it in a car that is on a stock garret turbo. Realistically it will never make much more power then a stock SRT. I've went from a stock T2 IC to a SRT IC in two different TMs and the butt dyno said they both picked up power. But I think part of that comes from getting the IC out of the engine bay and stops the heat soak.

For cheap as I can get them I was thinking of building a dual core lol.
