My car is the opposite of yours now, haha. I powdercoated my 16" pumpers last year. Rest of the car still looks terrible.

Haha!! Thanks for the vote of confidence in my painting ability! At this point, it would need to wait until spring. I don't have heat in the garage, and I'm sure this nice weather we are having is going to turn pretty soon.

I like doing these projects for myself. Most guys would freak if they knew how little I actually have invested in this car. I was just discussing it with my Dad last night. I now have a like-new car, and no car payments. I am on cloud 9 right now with this thing. I bought this as my DD, and so far it has exceeded expectations. Should make a good car for me for at least the next 5-6 years...

I may actually have to make a descision next year on which vehicle to take to SDAC. The Daytona, or the Scamp... Of course, the Scamp will be packing a lot more power next year... but that's a discussion for another thread...

    Getting closer...

I applied my first decals last night. Got the T-top frame painted, and installed the B-pillar trim.

I can actually see myself getting this thing running this next weekend...

Well, it's on the road again. I finally finished it(or as close as any project gets, you know what I mean).

I finished the Daytona this afternoon, and took it on a short road trip to my folks place.

3 1/2 months, which I know is quick for a restoration. Seems like there was a lot of stuff got in my way and put me behind.

Here it is in all it's current shiny glory:

And yes, I polished the factory wheels...

Just for comparison, here is the day I brought it home a year and a half ago:

Thanks AJ. The paint isn't as perfect as redbox, but I'm happy with it.

The last three weeks have been a marathon run to get it done. Out in the garage until 11 or midnight most nights. It's probably one of the best looking 25+ year old daily drivers in this area. I'm sure I'll get a lot of looks. Absolutely loved getting back in it this morning for the drive to work. The Scamp is fun, but I've missed this car...
