4 nuts and the k-frame is down hanging from the ball joints, easy as pie then. I already have the steering column out and the rack from the Daytona is a known good unit.

Re: '84 GLH Restomod + BoostButton Development Car

With the LeBaron out of the way, I got shorty here in the garage. I need 2 more Jack stands and the disassembly can begin (i only have 6 total, and the Daytona uses 4 since the tires leak down).

Its really hard to move this thing with the column locked. I need to go pickup the column (with a key) that I made a deal on a month ago. Just not enough time for the road trip to Indiana...

    Needs some work in there...

Engine is on the stand. I threw the head, intake and turbo on just to test fit the intercooler.

The head and intake need come off and get disassembled and cleaned so they can go to moparzrule for some porting. And the block is going to get stripped and painted orange so I can start to assemble the short block while I'm waiting for the head and intake work.

That far stripped down probably worth pulling the fenders and redoing all the seam sealer behind the fenders and also in the cowl.

Yep. Already found a 1/2" of rust in the driver side rear rain gutter. Nothing serious yet, but I'll take care of it before it gets too bad.

I probably will eventually. Unless I get a smoking good bonus this year (extremely unlikely), then paint will have to wait until next year.

Re: '84 GLH Restomod + BoostButton Development Car

Anyone ever try to put a Daytona rear seat into an Omni? They look more comfortable than the flat bench that came in the Omni. I have one sitting in the garage from my race car. I might try it this weekend.

I've decided I don't dig the blue interior in this car. Anyone want to swap interiors from a gray car with me?

I don't have a gray interior, but I may be interested in some of the blue stuff if you decide to sell it.

Might be able to work that out. I have the original gray door panels anyway. I'm really only missing the interior plastics in gray.

My dar doesn't have the 90 dash, though. Looks like the original. I'm keeping that.

I also have a line on some 86 Daytona seats.

the blue stuff is from a 90 omni.

Here at Dyson, we think a Mopar engine should just be painted... properly...

Why change the column? Take off the steering wheel, lock plate and change the lock cylinder.

Any colour is better than black. I just rebuilt an engine in a 90 Dakota, V6 and the customer wanted it Hemi Orange, of course it was black before. The engine bay just pops now. Should have taken pics.

Mopar Performance colors, FTW. Wrinkle black over Hemi Orange every day.
