No need to swap 87 knuckles on. Read this.:
    http://www.dempseybowling.com/shelby/slhpkgs.htm

The only daytona knuckles you swap on is when you go to 11" vented 4 wheel disc. and those are 89+ The SLH1 is what you want which is 14" caravan adapter brakets and calipers from 85-89 ish. And the larger MC. 220mm rear drums work, or 89+ 10" rear solid rotors would be ok too with the caravan fronts. If you go vented rears you MUST go 11" fronts. Other wise you stick with the 10.6" stuff.

So, what knuckles should I run? If I run stock knuckles, how do I get 5 lug hubs? Stock knuckles for 84 use narrow bearings, so I can't just press in 5 lug hubs.

Also, I have no choice for performance strut, except Koni for $500+.

SRT knuckles are different from standard Neon knuckles because they have larger brakes.

Ah, OK. But the strut mounting width is the same (1.27")?

Yeah, it's the same width. The only difference between 2g neon and PT/SRT struts is that the PT/SRT have the lower spring perch moved up .25" to clear taller tires. Knuckle width is the same.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Just to chime in; if you end up using the stock Omni knuckles (or even if you go Neon and want a cheap strut option), Koni yellow strut inserts for the Neon SRT4 work very well and are decently affordable.

Just have to turn down the top of the strut shaft as shown below:

Are all of the PT knuckles the same as the SRT knuckles, or is it the PT turbo ones only? If it's all of them that would make it a lot easier choice to track those down if you liked the 2nd gen strut options.

I think I've pretty much decided on SRT knuckles and brakes, 2gn Koni STR-T struts, and stock 2gn springs...

I guess its only the manual trans PT. The auto cars had a different mounting point for the outer tie rod. Not such a good turning radius with them.

Well, there aren't a ton of those in the yards either. Bummer they aren't more common.

Fair enough; just thought I'd mention another option. I look forward to seeing what you end up doing with your GLH

Haven't done much on this thing yet, other than collect parts.

Bought a S2 can on eBay; S60 fuel pump; 92 harness and PDC; SRT4 calipers and knuckles...

Need to get my father in laws LeBaron out of the garage so this guy can go in...

Bought a water to air intercooler today, too. I think the same one rgl10 is using.

What type of setup will you be using to keep your water cool?

A radiator. It'll be a street car and semi dallied in the summers.

I've been trying to find a radiator about the same size as a stock T2 intercooler to mount in its place. Brass preferred so that I can solder my own fittings. No luck so far.

Also need to get a Ford/Bosch intercooler pump.

Checking in. Glad to see someone is finally working on the car :-)

if I ever go air/water intercooler I'll just use a ebay Honda civic radiator as the heat exchanger.
