Thought maybe these were Shelby Lancer wheels. Would've been a nice score. Looks like they're just very similar. They'll be nice on my GLH once they're all cleaned up.

lol. im about to leave in a few min.
had some water BS to take care of at the house late last night so i was up late and then slept in.
my convoluted water system (to account for a shallow well) lost is prime cause a toilet was running while we were out last night.... went to wash my hands at 11pm to go to bed and no water came out.... the washer was running too and there really wasnt water washing my clothes for today that much lol.
so out to the yard i go.... well..... full, almost to the top (hand dug 18.5 ft well).... phew..... all this rain is keeping it up.
325 gal storage tank in the basement.... empty.
so i kicked the timer bypass off and the well pump started filling the tank. then i primed the pump that draws from the tank and feeds the house..... 100gal later (and the well outside barely dropped) and i could flush the air out of the lines upstairs, fix the stupid toilet chain and restart the laundry.
so i slept in.

Grab the fog light brackets. Lots of people are usually looking for them.
If any part of the drip rails are good you could cut them off and use them. If it still has the license plate bulb lens cover I would take it.
i think the carb and turbo body harness are different too, at least for the fuel pump i think? the dash and harness can be pulled in about 25 minutes, ive done it with a cast on one hand. if you plan on keeping your 84 glh, i would grab a few more things. door handles, and window regulators (if either still work) outside window scrapers? 5 lug stuff is cool, but i think your already taking care of that for yourself, would really be worth keeping around. but k-frame and rack wouldnt be a bad idea? ive had a couple california k-frames fail on me, so up to you? and the glh steering rack should be quick ratio? i didnt see if you listed grill? gauge cluster?
Since my machine shop isn't taking new work right now, I decided I could balance my rods and pistons myself. So, I got creative this weekend with an old water pump bolt, some tubing and a couple of wrenches...
Got all 4 HD rods off the old nasty stock pistons, and got 3 of the 4 new 0.5mm over pistons off the LW rods. My bolt gave out on the 4th (and last) LW rod/piston. I'll go get a bit of threaded rod and finish it up later.
Turns out, HD rods weight 687g. LW rods are 651g. Really? They're only ~30g lighter? Why did they bother? Seeing the balance pads on the HD rods, I'm sure I could take 10 maybe 20g out of them without a problem, and still balance them. I'll probably see how much I can get off of them. I want this to be a responsive daily driver.
New/old pistons are only about 2g heavier each (all are 449-451g); new pins are 10g lighter each at 117g.
I also drew up plans to make my own rod balance stand. $200 for the Jegs version is silly. I can build the same thing, using the gram scales I already own, for $50.

Wow. That's really taking it to the next level Rob.
What do you mean? With the ladder? There's no next level in the garage. Unless you count the loft where I throw parts to get them out of the way...
I'm travelling again for work (the real job, not BB). When I get home I'll measure the thickness of the balance pads on the tops of the rods and see how much can come off; but I think I'm going to lighten the HD rods similar to my race T2 rods (which were professionally done) - I'll grind down most of the small end balance pad, and then just re-balance the big end as usual and smooth the corners a bit. The big end on the HD rods has already been re-sized and they're basically ready to go. So, if I take off too much, it might throw off the roundness. Don't want to do that.
I think when you're doing machine shop work in the garage you've found another level in there.
Just don't let the metal get hot when removing material.... but I'm sure you realize that :-)

he had me replace a rod once for my build that was slightly blued on the big end.... was afraid the rod might have gotten hot from rod knock and then was resized prior to be bringing it to him for final checks/resize/install.

were they nasty like beat up or just cause they are heavy?
