Went digging thru the junk in the trunk tonight to get pics of the KH caliper brackets I knew were in there (for someone interested in them). While digging, I also found the original headlight wires (cut); and the windshield trim! Sweet! I always like finding parts I thought I was going to have to buy. The trim isn't exactly straight, but I think it can be sorted out.
Getting a '85 GLH-T as a parts car for a good deal. Hopefully picking it up this weekend. For sure, I'll be taking these parts off it for the '84 GLH:
1. Wheels and tires - It has either 15 or 16" (can't tell from the pics) black lace wheels and decent looking tires; 5-bolt.
2. GFX and Air dam
3. K-Frame (I want to someday make a dual pivot K-Frame for this car. Hate stub/struts).
4. Rust repair panel for the drivers side rear door openeing
5. Turn signal switch (the one in the GLH is wonky)
6. Fenders if they're in better shape than mine
7. rad support reinforcement plates
8. Firewall turbo heat shield
What else should I get off this car? Fuel tank? Is it different than a carb tank? Or only the hanger/pump?
What I don't use will go up for sale, but I'll have to get rid of it quickly. Wife won't allow me to have a junkyard in the driveway. This car won't even leave my trailer before it goes to the scrapyard (floors are gone, not really savable). What should I take off it to sell? Window scrapes/channels (if they're any good), door seals? 5-lug front knuckles? It has a few interior bits left, but is mostly stripped.
I could use that passenger side front bumper end.
Seems like windshields can be difficult to find, at least in a quality form...

Look what followed me home today.
It's far too rusty to save.
Got started salvaging what I could.
GFX, check.
Turbo hood, check.
Taillights, check.
Fuel pump hanger, check.
Fuel tank, far too rusty to be worth savings.
Hatch struts, check (bouns! didn't expect them to be any good).
One good Bosch fog light, check.
Tomorrow, I'll pull the wheels, k-frame (if I'm feeling ambitious), cluster, door seals, and whatever else looks good.

Are the 5-lug knuckles off this '85 GLH anything special? Should I save them, too?
How about the dash harness; worth saving?
Rod shifter?
Id save that stuff, it's all pretty hard to find nowadays.
Ready for the scrap yard.
Ran out of steam. Didn't pull the kframe or knuckles.
If I have some free time tomorrow, I may still pull them. Everything on this car is very rusty. If it fights me at all, I'll just give up.

I'd keep the solenoids....hows $10 for bumper ends plus shipping?
door glass?

I did get the rad support reinforcement bracket off. The bolts were so rusty you could barely see threads anymore. So, I just cut them off with the wizzer wheel.
There should be more room in the garage after today. The crap I took out of the Daytona that has been out in the garage for 8 years and not moved is getting thrown into the GLH to go to the scrap yard.
