    Srt-Glh Dyno

Got back to the dyno today after the new mods. Went something like this

    16lbs(wastegate pressure) - 350hp
    22lbs - 420hp
    25lbs - 440hp 410torque

Leaving the car around 22 cause either the tires were spinning on the dyno or the clutch was having problems.

Heading to Streetwars at englishtown this Sunday. Hoping for a low 11 second pass

Car that I knew about having bad clutch problems on the dyno left a little pile of clutch dust. Wonder what it looks like inside your bellhousing. If its your clutch its gonna be much worse at the track. Don't go all out your first pass.

What are the little "blips" at the end of the power band...it looks like after the throttle might have been shut...or is that part of the evidence that the clutch is having a problem?

I agree something is causing issues because at 16#'s you were making ~22hp/lb of boost. At 22#'s you only did 19hp/lb and at 25#'s it was down to 17.6. Of course efficiency of the system is going to decrease as boost increases, but loosing almost 2hp/lb with only a 3# difference in the settings....I'd be looking for something going on unless I knew I was running out of turbo.

    Crap...I just remembered...heat soak...DOH! Well...maybe I just over thought everything! LOL

That dropoff makes perfect sense to me. I don't buy the notion of thinking about HP/psi as if its some useful linear guesstimator. Engines make insane power the first few psi but people just ignore that and slam it all into that HP/psi thing.

He is about 2/3 the way to the limits of the stock longblock (if there was a larger turbo involved) so the trend is to be expected. Throw a much larger turbo into the mix and there might be a more steady hp/psi but you trade off a lot of good driving characteristics.

I would also say that as boost is rising your timing drops, especially if you were running out of octane. IMO if you were really hardcored tuned, you would always be at either the maximum limits of your octane or HP has dropped off before knock (which is much more likely with good fuel).

Yea def pushing the stock long block. Went to the track it was way too cold hard to catch any traction. Only got a low boost pass in and ran a 12.1 at 114. Snapped the drivers side dss stage 2 axel before I could get any high boost runs in and dial the tune in :/ they are under warranty so once it gets back I'll be right back at the track
