    A413 5 pinion differential question

I'm about to rebuild my transmission and was reading about the 5 pinion mod but I'm not sure what I have to look for. What I understood is that I need the 5 pinion planetary and the thrust washers because the old ones won't fit. I also heard something about the bearing housing, that I need to get the LATE bearing housing, which is the bigger one. Can somebody please explain me what I am going to need to make this mod?

I found this on eBay, it is the big bearing type which I think it has the 5 pinion planetary. If I buy this, should I only buy the big bearing housing or what else?

    Thanks!

The picture is of a differential carrier, 2 axle gears, 2 pinion (spider) gears inside the carrier.
The bearing housings support the differential carrier on the tapered roller bearings
The 5 pinion planetary is a completely different part inside the automatic transmission.

    Thanks

Re: A413 5 pinion differential question

Sorry, I got confused with so many terms, I was mixing things up. So I don't need the differential to the the 5 pinion mod, right? What should I buy then to fit a 5 pinion in my early A413 transmission?

The 5 pinion differential that I'm looking to buy is this one:

Drop in and go. IDK if the thrust washers are different but those should be replaced anyways.

I welded all of the pins all the way around when I built mine.

Yes. the thrust washers are definitely different. Make sure you get the right ones for your application.

So I only need the planetary and thrust washers for the 5 pinion and what else? Is that it?
