    Interesting problem occuring

So the Shadow decided it wasn't starting this morning, whatever thats another issue. This afternoon I made an interesting discovery, with the key OFF and the parking lights on the temperature gauge pegs all the way over to hot, beyond the scale like to the limit of movement that the needle can move. Now leave the parking lights on and turn the key on and all is 'normal', turn the key off and its back to full max peg-out on the temp gauge. Even the gas gauge decided to start moving somewhat with all the activity.

Something is back feeding or otherwise playing with ground ?

My oil pressure gauge reads a little bit higher when I turn my lights on. Haven't bothered to dig into it although I'm swapping from an lm to smec.

I've noticed that same thing, but not nearly to the extent you have it. My old Acclaim would bump up whatever reading was showing on the guages when the lights were turned on; even when the engine wasn't running. The bump up wasn't much, perhaps the width of the needle.

Stock SBEC. Started up and ran fine so that may have been a random fluke but the gauge is still going funky with the lights on, key off.

How is your headlamp switch connector? Melted? I could see a nasty connector causing some strange issues

Most likely the instrument cluster lost it's ground.

Its been awhile since I have looked. Certainly has gotten hot before and its probably time to inspect it again and make sure nothing has gotten worse.

Tonight at the gas station the instrument panel didn't light up with the parking lights, bumped the side of the dash board around the cluster and it came alive. Its really nasty outside so I'm not going to look further until this weekend but there is most certainly something loose inside there.
