Got the cables in today, they look good. It will probably take until after SDAC to get them on the car to test fit so we'll see how the shift feels then.

Have you had a chance to mount your cables?
I have a NOS set I found in a container, but would like a spare because.....

Was at the track today, end of a long high speed straight and went to down shift prior to turn but could not shift , at all. No neutral, nothing.
Limped off track in 4th gear , in paddock discovered that my cable was toast literally.
The longer cable at the rear of tranny that runs across to passenger side was cooked.
In my car it was routed between the block and the header.
It had cooked off all the plastic and when I tried to shift it was just mushrooming the cable and not moving the linkage at all.

The rear cable on my car has some sort of heat sleeve around it.

Mine did too! But just cooked that too. I will use some of that aircraft orange heat sleeve stuff. To be fair i assune these cables are the original ones, so long past life expectancy.

I was afraid of that. I've been worried about cooking that cable. ( especially since Benji has my spare )

Pictures were difficult as car is still in trailer. But you can get the idea.
First pictures shows proximity to exhaust ,
2nd shows close up of the cable. When I would try and shift it would collapse on itself.
New cables going on this weekend.

Yeah, If you need those back any time soon just let me know. I thought I had sent them back until I was organizing car parts in my basement last month and found them. I'd like to keep them until I get the car running. Everything with the new cables looks good so I don't see having any issues but it would be nice to have a set to compare if things don't work correctly.

I have installed my cables. Everything seems to fit good and feels good shifting through the gears.
I have a set in my orange daytona and like them a lot.

yeah, no worries, I don't "need" them unless one breaks. I've converted to rod ends on my cables so unless a weld breaks I should be ok.
I put almost 400 miles on the car yesterday ( 6-7 hrs in one day ) and other than the noise from the straight pipe at hwy speeds, the car performed flawlessly.

Yes I have A/C and heat. It was super cold so I had the heat on almost the entire time.
There was a road rally starting in Gainsville put on by Drive Florida. Up at 5AM with a brisk drive from Orlando to Gainsville. From there we headed to Crystal River mall. Out through Dunellen. Lunch stop was Yalaha Bakery.
I cut out shortly before lunch because I had to be home by 2 but what a run! Something like 150 cars. A few GTRs, Hellcats, at least one R8 and some crazy guys in an AC cobra ( talk about a cold morning for those guys ). From my math ( including broken chain of cars due to signals and stop signs ) our line of cars was something like 7 miles long!
