    40mm offset on Rampage?

Anyone out there running a 40mm offset on a Rampage? We have one in the shop and the rims the owner picked are 40mm offset. I measured the ninja's that are on it right now and they would appear to be 32mm offset. With 205 tires I can't squeeze my index finger between the front of rear leaf spring and tire wall.

40mm is going to more that another 8mm closer which concerns me.

    Anyone with helpful info?

    Re: 40mm offset on Rampage?

I've had 15x7 38 offset wheels on an L body with stock style struts, 205/50's and a street alignment without issue. I don't recall exactly how much clearance there was, but they fit fine. If you have issues with a 40 mm offset with the tire you're running, a small spacer should be enough to get you the clearance you need.

    Re: 40mm offset on Rampage?

40mm is the stock offset on all our various 15x6 alloys which all fit a Rampage fine. But, offset alone only describes clearance/fitment if you're talking about the same 6" wheel width. If you were to go to a wider wheel with the same offset, say 15x7 +40, it would be half inch (~12.7mm) wider on each side of the hub flange so it would have ~12.7mm less clearance to the strut etc.

If you have a wheel that you know the specs of and know will fit the car, you can put those specs and the specs of the theoretical new wheel into an online calculator to see how the side to side clearance will change. If the diameter changes as well you have to account for those differences in the vertical plane yourself.

That about what I told him, Might need a small spacer to clear.

I measured a Ninja rim down to the mm and it worked out to be 32mm off set, but sites have our application listed as 40mm.

+ L-body isn't the real issue here. the tightest clearance issue is the tire sidewall to leaf spring on the rear, so Rampage Only.

    Re: 40mm offset on Rampage?

Well, decided to measure the off set again, just to be sure and Dang, have no clue how I got 32mm off set? I get 41mm now, so should be no problem. lol (I must have used the thick straight edge and measured to opposite sides the first time?)
