    430 lbs Spring rate to high?

    I have a 88 dodge omni. Front is lowered on a 1g neon struts.
    Now i ordered my sleeves n everything.
    The oem spring rate is 90lbs.. But i ordered GC180.64.75 (7/2.5"/430 lbs) springs for the rear... Are these to high? My front is stiffer than before but i like it..

    It's a bit hard for daily use. You'll need good dampers to control a spring that stiff.

    using my oem shocks with 49k miles on them..

    Oem shocks will not control that kind of spring rate. It will be pogo city.

    But, given that you get some good dampers, it's not a ridiculous spring rate. I would say it's pretty aggressive for an all-street car but pretty normal rear spring rate for a dual purpose autox/street car. Your ideal front rate to match is probably going to be 250+, though. Probably over 300.

    Yeah that's close to the MP spring rate. Actually in between the Shelby and MP spring rates.
