Exactly. It was nice 80 degrees, then a light rain got cool, light hail almost like snow, then blamo. my buddy 2 miles away didn't get a drop

One step closer to the track. Alignment is done and I now have a semi working tachometer
Good thing the SL was in the garage. If you need to go faster ($), I can always take #79 back

Nice!
Working on clearing the decks.
+ 1,000,000,000,000,000 hp!!
I should be able to make it to the track toward the end of the month. Pulled about 25 more pounds off the front of the car, getting really close to the 2000lb mark.
Installed headlight covers to help with aerodynamics and of course the cool factor
Since this thread has gone for a bit, would you mind reviewing all of the weight savings you have found?
Surething but most of it people would not be willing to do unless building a straight up track only car.
Removed the complete interior and I do mean everything except steering column/wheel, pedals, e-brake. Even removed the rubber pads on the pedals and replaced it with skate board grip tape. Metal cut out of doors, speaker area, and behind the tail lights.
Fiberglass hood and hatch, removed hood/hatch hinges, hood/hatch releases, lexan glass all around except for the windshield.
Fuel tank, filler neck, cap, straps, steel fuel lines and spare tire well removed and replaced with lexan panel, 3 gallon fuel cell and aluminum fuel lines
All the material behind the nose cone removed

All the stock electronics ie. wiring, computer, hold tabs, body control module removed and replace with AEM stand alone saved almost 70lbs
Stock wheels replaced with Motegi traclites(10.4lbs) and aluminum lug nuts.
Coilovers saved 13 or 14lbs also
Windshield wipers, motor, and all linkage are now gone.
One set of headlights and associated wiring.
Hole sawed the snot out of the bumpers.
When trimming the fenders for the larger slicks I noticed that most of the front part of the fender is covered by the nose cone, so I removed all of that metal as well.
Pretty much trimmed off every bolt in the car and removed most of the redundant ones.
Removed almost all of the metal that holds the ground effect on.
Drilled and slotted rotors.
Almost all fittings that were brass are now aluminum.
Aluminum radiator and lightweight fan.
Lawn mower battery.
All emission lines, canister, etc removed.

Exhaust removed, heat shields and hangers. Replaced with a 3inch down pipe that is 2 feet long.
And most important of all, removed CS badging and replaced with CS decals
Awesome! Thanks for the rundown! Now I know why my car won't be that light! LOL I have WAY more crap I have to put in it, plus I'm keeping some amenities (even though it seems counter intuitive). Oh well. I guess I'll keep aiming for that 2500-2700#'s wet weight...and that is even going to be a challenge!
