No lock up, A.J. cleaned everything up, installed the peloquin, and set preload.

Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Back on the dyno for some comparisons from manual trans to auto. Didn't lose that much power and torq is coming in much quicker now.

also went into my boost controller and made some changes, got the boost to come in much quicker and stay consistant thru the runs.
went from getting 14psi @ 4000 rpm to 22psi @ 4000 rpm and the boost stays much linear, creeping up only 2ish psi to 24.3psi. I am sure with a little more tinkering I could smooth it out a little more, but good enough for now.

Have to clean the fuel up a little bit have some spots in the low 10's high 9's.

the manual trans hit 126mph on the dyno @ 7000rpm, auto was at 149mph @ 6700 rpm.

Max torque was 383wheel ft lbs @ 3850rpm

Best pull today was 430whp@ 7000rpm at 24.3psi

started the run @ 3000 rpm at 68mph(high gear) and took 7.11 seconds to get to 149mph @ 7000 rpm

Here is the manual transmission graph

Auto trans graph, changes only to spool time

Amazing what a good boost controller can do(Greddy Profec B Spec II)

What settings did you adjust? I had my gain set at 10% and it seemed to work good with my stock turbo. Didn't fool with any other settings much.

I will have to confirm But I am pretty sure I have:
    Set at 60
    Gain at 20 percent
    Set gain at 60

    EDIT Gain is at 30%

Are you using the tire diameter of your slicks to get this?

    3.50 or 3.72 FD?

slicks are a no no on a dyno. these runs are with my drag radials 225 50 15, actual #'s no calculations. 2.91 FD

Well a 225/50/15 is ~23.9" and if there were no slip involved a 2.91 trans in 3rd would do 164mph @6700 with that tire diameter.

So, working back from that you can calculate that at 6700 rpm with that amount of torque going across it, the converter was losing ~612rpm and the input shaft was only turning ~6100 rpm.

Maybe not useful information but it doesn't hurt either.

    It's something...

I called a long time friend tonight, think fastest k-car, for some advice on gearing and such and he simply cut me off and said in his awesome new england accent:

"just go drive that bleepity thing already!, enough trying to figure out what may work or not work."

there was more conversation after that but his case is very compelling so without further adieu... I am headed to the track this friday

That loss is almost a good thing with the lack of good transfer gears out there. High rpm motor bogging through 3rd is not cool.

That switch doesn't look legit (plastic removable key?) plus is that even a legal location? I have mine behind my plate but looks like you have a lot of room for one beside yours. I just got out of a 4 hour safety meeting where they pressed safety at home. Might have to put some more emphasis on safety.

yes it is a removable key(SCCA approved). my battery is still under hood and I did not want to run 16 feet of cable thru the car. I am not racing in any sanctioned races for right now, just test and tune.

this is off the nhra page:

Battery: must be securely tied down. (Batteries that have been relocated from the stock position

require a functioning, easily accessible and clearly marked master cut off switch. The switch must

be connected to the positive side of the electrical system and when switched off, must shut off
ALL electrical functions in the vehicle.

I think that is leaving out a few details like location so the safety crew can find it, instruction sticker, and metal construction. The nhra website is not the rulebook. People often share the real rules on forums. . You can set set up to activate a giant relay to avoid wiring. Mine is very intricate. I have my battery in the fender and raced for years at one track and got failed here in seattle. Nhra rules kinda suck on that issue since most customers don't care about keeping battery up front. Other racing organizations probably dont keep safety rules so secret.

I have searched all over and have not been able to find that it has to be all metal construction. I am getting the decals. I did not install it for any rules, I put mine in for my own safety. My battery, as far as anyone at the track knows, is the stock location under the hood. 99% of the "techs" haven't even been able to tell me what the car is, much less what goes where. Every track is different for sure, I was once failed for not having a clamp on my hose coming off my overflow bottle.

    Loaded up one more time

best pass was a 1.77 60ft with a 7.45 trap. made 8 runs in total. car feels great down the line, no squat pulls straight as an arrow. I have to download the logs, felt like I was loading up with fuel. need to do some tweeking, had a hard time loading up boost at the line. Not bad for the first time out.
